A blood red sky hung over the north of the Brandin mountains. There was a small mining community in particular, run by a foreman and an Arcane smith, who found this portent particularly relevant, for they had recently become slaves under a new entity known as "The Blood King". Suffering day by day, forced to work towards unknown schemes, the miners lived in misery and hardship.
This was until the Mercenaries from the Arcanum, on the Starsday just past came upon the situation and applied their typical levels of action. A dark power was released and defeated, and the power over the community was broken.... though not destroyed. Fleeing instead to return in time.
Deep within the mines, it was rumoured that an abandoned Drowe city was discovered, locked in shadows but released, its power spreading to the nearby farmsteads, causing darkness and corruption. Does this persist? Is this a concern? Is this even real? A city lost in a mine... does that not sound... absurd?
Meanwhile, a Frost Giant Clan who had remained remote and isolated within the mountain range known as "Frost Vale" were seen to rise up. Their burial grounds were disturbed, trespassed, and they took this with all the understanding of a nest of angry hornets. Their anger remains contained but visible.
