BROTHERS AND SISTERS,
IT IS WITH SAD NEWS THAT I ANNOUNCE THE END OF THE IMMORTAL REMSTAR ON THIS REALM. HE SACRIFICED HIS DIVINE NATURE AS PART OF A DIVINE RITUAL TO STOP THE AVATAR OF THE DESTROYER ARRIVING ON PRIMUS. I'M NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENS WITH ELYSIANS, BUT I SHALL BE IN MORDRED'S REST CONDUCTING FUNERAL RITES AND CEREMONIES AT MORDERED'S REST. I HAVE A GREAT MANY MEMORIES OF REMSTAR OF REMILLA, AS WE WERE YOUNG MERCENARIES WHO TRAVELLED TOGETHER AS THE COUNCIL OF NINE, FORMED THE INFAMOUS REMONSTRATOR AND SAVED THE LAND OF LEGEND. MY CONDOLNENCES TO THE CHURCH OF UNITY. IT IS A TRUE LOSS FOR ONE OF IMRAZIL’S VIRTUES AND THE KNIGHTS OF LEGEND WILL MOURN HIS PASSING. FABADON |

I never really went in for following the Divine, always seemed like a good excuse to fight people and look for differences in each other that weren’t really there. Safe to say though I came close once and had I ever had a God then it would have been Remstar.Farewell my friend,
I’ll come to the Rest at once. Dave |

This saddens me greatly.
I was always able to speak to Remstar in the times I felt troubled. I remember the time fondly when he looked at me and referred to me as just a minion of our Lord Imrazil, even if he was being completely serious. Farwell my friend, your sacrifice will never not be known within our Order. Knights, if you are able, I request your presence at the rest as we watch over Remstar and mourn the passing of Unity. Remstar
You have always been uniting and caring in your ways and gave up that which made you to try and defeat one of life's ultimate enemies. I wish I had spent more time with you in life and I hope you return to us all as Primus is both weakened and is lacking your spark. Jander |

Knights,
I have been contacted by one of the group with Remstar at the end. As Fabadon said, Remstar placed his divine nature in to the ritual. It is still too early to understand what effects this will have on Remstar, he could still live on without the divine aspect of him or he could be reborn different, only time will tell. While it is rite to remember his sacrifice and share memories of him it may be wise to wait a while before he takes his place with those others in the Burial Mound of Heroes outside The Rest. Would be awkward if he turned up alive again in a weeks time! Also, while his divine nature may have gone it is important to remember what Remstar represented, that united we are stronger, working together for the better of all. While religion and gods aren't my strong point (my god's an elf for starters...) its seems that if we continue to act as one, strong in the belief of unity then what Remstar was and stood wont be completely gone. Remstar. Well over 10 years ago.
So there we were. Remstar, Harpell and myself facing off a literal army of demons. I was casting chains of spiritual bolts directly from Michael's power and Harpell was hacking them up. Unfortunately they could only be killed, at the end, by the Total Healing prayer bound with magic. They soon realised that only Remstar could do this and, with a concerted effort, they struck him savagely and destroyed his mortal form. There glee was short lived as the Divine aspect of Remstar arose as...... a Spirit of the Total Healing prayer bound with magic. Harpell shrugged and said "This may take a while". It did.... but eventually they stopped coming. You will be missed Remstar. Captain Justin the Left Handed. 101st Imperial Armoured Division - Empress' Own. Armoured Priest of Michael. |

I am saddened to hear of his passing but ultimately the sacrifice does not surprise me.

I am very sorry to hear this. Whilst no longer a Knight, I have always considered Remstar to be a friend and comrade. I trust that he may journey back to us in time, and shall look to the West for his return.

Words cannot describe the sadness I feel at hearing of Remstar's sacrifice.
I remember Remstar from over 20 years ago when we were both young and I was taking myself on my first travels outside of Halgar as a priest of Shallya. He was a man that embraced his inner spark, a true inspiration for many; a being that embodied virtuosity to the extent of becoming a Virtue. It is of no surprise to me that he gave of himself in this way. He was ever one to do what was needed to protect the land and its people. I regret it being so long since we travelled together; I hope this is not the end of the legend of Remstar. Halvor |

Remstar a true Legend and a Virtue of Imrazil has done what every good Knight of the Land would do, put his life on the line for the Land.
I hope Gimly is right and that you are still with us. I will attend Mordred's Rest and be with others who will make memory of the time they have spent with yours. I will be attending on Amorphous as well as he is unwell after that ritual yet again another Knight who has always find the right thing when it was asked if him. My love to all of you Knights that fill me with such pride by your sacrifices for the Land. Is it wrong that I hope his vitae brings him back, but without the divinity? I think he was happier that way.
Either way, I will remember him fondly and hope to see him again some day, somewhere. Gaxx -------------------- No of course I won't ref. Are you mad?

Poor fellow. He helped me a lot when I was young and lost and I dont think Id be half of who I am had his warm voice not guiding our church. That said, Im fairly confident he'll be back - I've not joining The Knights yet and it seems unlikely that I make that choice without his influence.
Rest well friend, but dont sleep in. Arnold |

This isn’t an obituary, because Remstar isn’t dead. I suppose it’s sort of a memorial, for the things he did when he was the person he isn’t any more, but change isn’t dying.
A long time ago and far away, I met a god, or more likely the last echo of a god, named Ranathalon, and he told us how he and the other gods of Ramilliah had sacrificed themselves to imbue their mortal followers with shards of their divinity, to give them the strength they needed to fight the Malkori, mortals who had become powerful by bargains with old gods best left unwoken. We never knew the names of the others; maybe part of the divine disintegration was to be entirely forgotten, so that their mortal children wouldn’t forget their own names, in turn. I often wondered about that, when I’d been speaking to Remstar, because it seemed to me that the more powerful he became, the less he remembered how to just be human, for want of a better word; the older he became, the less he was capable of uncertainty, or to admit error, or to laugh at his own mistakes, and I always thought that it must be the pity of the world to be so. But that isn’t all of it, because for all of the things Remstar could be that drove me to distraction, no matter how hard he tried to be this aloof divinity, or maybe how much that divine shard compelled him, he couldn’t stop being just like the rest of us, someone who laughed and died and fought and cried along with us, in the greatest victories and hardest defeats, the most awful plans and half-baked last stands we as Knights and as a faith ever came up with. Over the years we stood and fought the bacon Demons of the Wrath of Swine, we bundled Imrazil, we charged unkillable foes with a battle cry of “dry socks and hot snacks”, we remembered the words of an Immortal hero’s epitaph, we argued over who should chop off their own legs to feed evil cannibals, and we learned the power of caltrops against All Evil. We raged and swore at the Dark Renown and the echoes of the Malkori, we learned to hate people who didn’t wear shoes, and to forgive them anyway, we fought the longest fight of our lives around a fire and then later learnt how bitter it was to be betrayed, and we stood on top of a mountain and cried when our friend blew a horn that made the saddest noise in the world and was gone forever. So Remstar, if you’re reading this, I regret a great many things, but I don’t regret the time I told you it would be better to die so you could remember what it was like to have a choice, without the compulsion of divinity and the weight of responsibility and all. In giving up the divinity you were given to save others, you honoured your gods’ sacrifice, and I’m sure you made their memory proud. I think you’ve earned a time to be mortal. Tavis Enoch Khan |
