Hi All
I’m looking for some inspiration and build help for a fun Druid-based character. It’s the last of the obvious classes that I’m yet to try at all but I just can’t get my head round what would be a fun build to play and tend to get stuck in the same ruts each time I try! I want to build something that can fight if needed, maybe when powered up, but is not front line, is party constructive but with a fun twist and could build into something quite tough as I go up the system. From the number of NO comments written on so many of my recent pointsapps, it’s clear that I’ve not yet got a handle on what will and won’t go through and also, what’s useful later in the system I thought I’d stop wasting my time and money chucking mud at the proverbial wall and ask you guys for help. What I’d love is any fun concepts you’ve got and any build advice you’re happy to give me, as detailed as you’re happy to give me. Frankly, I’d just like to follow someone else’s build advice, even as far as what abilities, multiclasses/races etc to take and in what order for this one up to 3k or even higher if possible to stop me making daft decisions and bombarding poor Lee with pointsapps he must be shaking his head at! I don’t want to steal ideas you’ll want to play yourself but any advice appreciated. Thanks Ben |

Choose a niche animal and go to town on the theme. I have 8 different bee themed evocations.

I have a high druid might not be too helpful. There were 2 evocations that were great for combat. 1 that gave claws and one that allowed you to move or act in a time freeze. With an evocation that enhances your strength and have claws and move so fast, you can't be hit. You would kill quite a few things. Plus as a High druid I can give you some perm barkskin. Just PM me if you want to really get into it. I'm free most of today to help.

I would start as Druid and look at Guardian of Nature as a multi-class. The status Servant of the Shadow of the Dawn has a lot of potential and gives you some nice abilities that can be great at the right time.
Tivorian Human might be a good race although the guild restriction might be a pain although Druid guilds have tended to struggle a bit so maybe not too much of a downside. The Pheka option would boost your healing options and allow you to take a conclave that does not focus on healing but something a bit more 'fun'. Maybe Winter/Mountains/Shadow of the Dawn as your chosen fields? Owl talisman is ridiculously good. Druids have so many options that I would say come up with a back story and start, see where it goes and what you enjoy, then you can develop your theme as you go along. Andy |

Ishmaic druid is strong - lots of resistance to magic and later lose your spirit.
I agree "a bit fighty" is probably looking at Guardian of Nature or similar You need 3-4 key evocations that work in a variety of situations - maybe a stopping effect, a decent communication and 2 power ups / defensive evocations and then the published stuff is strong. Druids need a back story, theme or they are just 2nd rank casters and fighters. A fun non-standard race (like maybe Calibrim) will help. So for my 2 grulls: Calibrim druid MC Defender of Nature MR to lose spirit 3-4 decent evocations David |

Druids are hard to get right, you need to accept you are either doing one of the boring conventional builds OR come up with a very strong theme (like Pete's animal one) and run it in to non standard territory.
There is a lot to buy now but the kicker is getting a concept that isn't just horrific generica which is what the druid book naturally leads you toward on reading. |

Find a concept and go from there. There are so many roleplay hooks you can have with druid but it's that that's going to keep you interested.
I have a human grey knight that I plan to MR primal soul wolf with. She's based on Red Riding Hood and will transform into the wolf herself. A similar thing could work with druid and choosing evocations that are wolf-like or creating your own. I have an alfar ranger who despises magic and spirit use because it disrupts nature and leaves entropy in its wake. She's a ranger and built to be very self sufficient so she doesn't have to rely on others to use magic or spirit and therefore go against her beliefs. -------------------- Stacey

Druid is indeed about your concept and what you are a Druid of over any standard "build".
Concepts I have include: Drowe Druid - all spider and web based evocations - very old school all non-standard evocations Skinwalker - Druid that shape changes into a Bear to Fight and Cat to Scout - think Wow Feral Druid - built around a m/c Gorgon Themed - Druid that specialises in Petrification, Snakes , Serpents and thus poison which is potent at lower thresholds -------------------- Gordon Court

I'd be tempted to multiclass into Priest (possibly Spirit Warrior?) for the life & utilise spirit item if your plan isn't to lose your spirit later.
