Hello everyone,
Just thought we should discuss the alcohol situation for the 3-day. Basically my proposal is that: 1 - We should all bring alcohol for our personal consumtion ourselves.... 2 - We should have a whip round of £3.00 each to provide ref and monster beer. I have got someone who can get 15 bottles of Becks at half price I think this works out at about £7.00 per case, so if we all put in £3.00 this makes a lovely £54.00 getting us 7 cases of becks which means a lovely 105 bottles of beer for our crew. Then if we all put in an extra £2 each we can get a few bottles of wine or that nice spritzer stuff for those who do not drink beer:-) What does everyone think????? I am quite happy to get the wine stuff and my contact to get the beer of which I shall give over the cash for and then collect it from everyone on the 3-day........ Jo.xxxxxx |

Jo.xxxxxx Hi Jo, It's great to think we're trying to sort out the beer before other things for the event, I like the style. I am happy to pay a share, indeed I am happy to pay £10 as that's what I have traditionally blown on crew beverages. That will either free up those who might not want to be part of the shares or buy more. Cheers Phil |

Who is monstering? I've had strange experiences recently involving monsters who don't drink, piles of beer left over and so forth. Weird, I know.
Do we have any of the pear cider brigade coming along? J -------------------- No of course I won't ref. Are you mad?

I'm with the whatever's around brigade:-) Although mostly cider for me.
I think the monsters should post here what they'd prefer to drink Jo. |

Dale and I both prefer to drink Lager but will drink whatever is available. Neither of us are massive drinkers however
I'm also happy to chip in for crew drinks, wouldn't feel right if I didn't |

I personally would like to point out that two of the refs don't drink beer, whilst the third ref will not function without it.
(There should be no difficulty in guessing who is who). (I cannot drink much at the moment anyway so don't worry about me). -------------------- - Rebecca

I thought it was traditional to have fruit based beverages for the ladies. And I'm fairly certain that all of the Ref crew are girls, apart from Rebecca who is a young lady.
Are we getting any sickly sweet spirits as well? Surely people can't live without syrupy alcohol. Kev. |

Some of us tough, rugged manly types may also enjoy the odd fruity tipple without it infringing upon our masculinity. Grr... |

Cider is traditional for the drinks during the day, and then lager for the afternoon. Wine takes over in the evening with port sneaking in later at night around a fire (someone remember to save a scroll) for some ridiculous conversations and likely some singing.
Intersperse that with danger juice and red bull and you're on target. Pretending to drink all that lot is my challenge. Stuart |
