The King and the Plan, Bilteve Options

“You realise this plan is close to madness?” The King of Deci shifted his stance as he looked around the gathered luminaries of the Church of Iron and Empire, his gaze focussing on them one by one. He was not really here, in truth he was, as ever, sat upon his Throne of Silver hidden in his Temple at the heart of Spire Court. This was just his Shadow.

“My divinations confirm that it is a workable plan,” the man calling himself Naga responded. “We collect a shard of ice from the Lake of the Cor’Saim and thrust it into the Heart of Fire and extinguish the plane, destroying it.”

“Workable perhaps but you believe that these can complete it?” The King demanded sweeping his hand to indicate those gathered in Ashgaroth’s Chamber. The King was not used to being questioned or having to explain himself. He had the Vizier for that. Where was the Vizier? “Let us say that we travel beyond the Far North into the Utter North, let us say that we are able to take the Ice from the Lake of the Cor Saim and we are able to use it to kill this plane do you honestly believe that there will not be a price to pay? Vengeance called upon Primus and those responsible?”

Naga paused before responding.

“The House of Wind and Stone have been using this Demonic Fire Plane as a nexus and its denizens as foot soldiers in their incursions all across Primus. They will only get bolder if not stopped. We take the battle to them, now, before the threat grows.”

The King of Deci nodded, that was after all the Deci way. He and his Court had united countless times to obliterate threats to his city long before they could grow. It amused the rebellious city, how often their acts had destroyed threats to the Empire and Primus long before they became serious that the Senate would never, ever know about. To quote Argoth

“I stay on top because I never let little problems become big problems”

Ghulston, squinted; there was truth in Naga’s words but he just felt that Naga was not telling them everything. Divinations were all well and good, and he had some skill in them, but the trick was asking the right question and either they had not been asked or Naga had not decided to share all he had learnt.

Kraken only half listened to the conversation, Dread barely heard it. They would fight for the faith and for the Empire as directed by their leaders. Nadriel, in the manner of the Liches of the Felldrakken Isle kept his own counsel. Marcus’ scholastic thoughts were elsewhere, the Book of the Dead, to be precise.

“The Cor’Saim is fought by the Northern Tribes. But even they who can withstand the greatest of colds must partake in the rituals of the Hordehost ritual to protect them in the Utter North or against the Pine. How do you expect to survive?” The King asked.
