We write here only what we have seen and pondered on. For those that read be wary for that which we say should not be taken as fact in anyway. It is our hope that those who travel with us to find out more may make their own minds up about events and indeed may contribute here with their thoughts.

1. THE PROPHECY

We place this at the start as it may be that much, if not all, of what we have come across are threads of a Prophecy, some or much of which could be said to have been played out already. Whilst wary that prophecies are often never as they seem, some are indeed warnings of things to come and so it seems it should be taken seriously for now.

So far the Prophecy, it seems, is as this

“When the dead of four lands bow down, when the blade of light emerges from hidden depths, then shall the Deathbringer awaken, and the throne of bone…”

These words come from a scroll, sadly damaged, given to us by a lich who it seems was studying the Aviathar and the Order of Eternal Light, more of which are written about below. After the words 'throne of bone' an 'S' was marked. It may be that this S stands for Savras, the name of a supposed 'prophet' more of which, again, we write about below.

Wary again of the fact that it is easy to shape events to fit the words of a prophecy we would say only the below to let people make up their own mind.

"When the dead of four lands bow down" -

There are it seems four worlds that the forces of Aviathar have conquered, all that seems to be left of these worlds, for the most part, are undead. More about these worlds were described in paintings that were seen in the Halls of Time

If the above does not fit then perhaps it is notable that we have travelled and fought the undead in Ishma, the Baronies, the Empire and at a similar time a tomb of a sword saint in Amlas was also raided.

'When the blade of light emerges from hidden depths' -

The blade that we retrieved from the a place called 'The dungeon of the Swords' located deep in the Sea off Thimon, was, we believe (from my own communications which can easily be decieved) called the 'Blade of Eternal' light. I can no longer sense the Sword, so what happened once retrieved we do not know. The last I know of the sword was when it was in the hands of a member of the Order called Bertrand, who stood before the Prelate of the Order. It is likely this Prelate is shielded from scrying and hence why I cannot see the sword again.

We believe that the sword was forged some 13 or so years ago and awaited collection by the Order for that time. This would perhaps tie in with the fact the Order have spoken of their unexpected exile or retreat at around the time of forging. The 'Blade of Light' it seems was forged on the belief that once ritually blessed it would be one of the few weapons that might harm Za'Karr, an unholy champion and general of Aviathar's army.

As for the rest of the Prophecy then we have some thoughts upon who or what this Deathbringer may be but I shall not for the moment say more for it best we think, for reasons that will become apparent, to discuss this in person next we meet.

2. THE PAINTINGS / HALLS OF TIME

For those interested in this tale and what has been written about above then we would say it may be wise to first cast your eyes over the descriptions of the paintings (OOC found in the previous menu) that we and those who we traveled with came across within a place called the Halls of Time. We are wary about the origins and purpose of these paintings but they should not, I think, be ignored out of hand.

3. THE ORDER OF THE ETERNAL LIGHT

We do not dare say that we know much of this Order, what their purpose is and what they intend we cannot say. We write again only what we have observed and the results of scrying that may have fallen to deception.

We first met the Order many moons ago. In one instance they set upon an undead within our party whilst we rested at an Inn in Stonehaven. Certainly they appear to dislike Undead and those of dark heart with a passion, or fire, or indeed inner flame perhaps.

We believe the Order has been to Primus some 15 or so years ago and for some reason then departed back to their home world of Martheon, a world which is now conquered by Aviathar it seems so one presumes, perhaps foolishly, they are now in hiding upon this world.

In any event they are once again within this world and their purpose seems to be that of continuing their fight against Aviathar. From our travels it would appear that they are amassing outside of a village called Stonehaven.

This fight it would seem included hiring our group of mercenaries to entrap the souls of a number of liches with a view to unleashing these liches upon the innocent of Labyrinthia. Having done this they hoped that this would increase the hatred of Undeath, something which the followers of Aviathar cherish. Fortunately they were not succesful in their plan, although the liches have been reborn by the powers of Aviathar.

We met their former Prelate Marcus during a mission trap the spirits of two liches as mentioned above. The last of these liches resided in Stoi and it appears had done much research into Aviathar and indeed it was this lich that gave me the scroll upon which the prophecy was written.

As we met the lich we also met Marcus who warned us of a great danger approaching. What danger this was is unclear only that Marcus fell and his body has now we believe been reformed and transformed by a priest of Aviathar.

Of note to is that one mission one of the Order killed one of their own, reportedly for not being goodly enough. We brought this to the attention of Marcus who was most concerned by this news. Given their zeal it would not be much of a surprise if some of their Order had taken to the extreme even in the eyes of their own.

Indeed the similarities between the symbol of the flame that they wear and that of its opposite worn by one of the brothers of Aviathar should not be forgotten for I think within this lays many answers to what we do not know. There is perhaps ultimately not that much of a step between both beliefs.

We hesitate in a way to write this last part concerning the Order because I fear that it will merely confuse matters. But it may not.

The Order may be dominated by some force for when met in person I sensed that they were in someway dominated to act in a manner not of their choosing. When I sought to control one of their number that one then died as their mind was assaulted.

My divinations about the Order reveal that they are and indeed were, never dominated in any way at all. Given my powers are not in any way what they once were then it may be that my divinations are being deceived when I am not within sight. I cannot of course discount the possibility that they were never dominated and I was in some way mistaken but this is far harder to make sense of should it be the case.

Should they be dominated then this clearly raises the questions of why and by who or what.

It may be though that this Order are bound together in some way so that if one is controlled or dominated then this bond is broken with fatal results.

4. AVIATHAR

Despite being perhaps one of the main actors within this play there is little we can write as, perhaps fortunately, we have not come across the more powerful of its followers.

Aviathar is we believe a ‘faith’ that is now spreading in Stonehaven and perhaps further afield.

We believe it to be identified by a symbol of one hand living clasped with one undead (such as that worn by one of the brothers below).

Those of the faith seem to believe deeply in the undead state as being a benefit to that of the living.

As previously written, it would appear that the followers of this 'faith' have already subjugated at least four worlds.

5. THE TWO

Present in many of the paintings within the Halls of Time. One armoured, one priest like.

We dare not read too much into the paintings but it is perhaps of interest that the knightly brother wears a symbol similar of the Priests of the Order of the Eternal Light. Further the knightly brother is then seen in a similar symbol just its opposite in the form of a flame no longer light but dark.

Perhaps given the paintings they have travelled many worlds with those worlds falling to undeath.

From my ponderings upon their roles we believe them to be Avatars of Aviathar. It may be that they or at least one of them now resides within Primus for I wonder if it was one of these Avatars that slew Marcus, the High Prelate of the Order of Eternal Light, at the end of one of our missions. Again I dare not ponder upon them directly for fear of its consequence.

6. VIRASITAEL THE CHRONOMANCER

A powerful undead creature who trapped the party we travelled with when we attempted to attune a node with the Halls of Time. The purpose of the trap was unclear although if he was permanently empowered through our ‘deaths’ then this may be one answer, if not then who knows.

He has travelled the Halls much according to the Dreamweaver, for those that travel the Halls be wary of him.

We met him briefly once the focus of his trap had been found. He did not attempt to kill us so why he was there is again unclear.

It would seem that Virasitael is a servant of Aviathar. What role he has within this play we don't know. We can say however that it was he who obtained the lich souls after we had secured them and at least one of the liches now reforms having being given by Virasitael to the high priest of Aviathar. Curiously however our Imperial hirer 'Chaszmyr' states that they do not pose a threat to Primus.

7. THE MISSING

There is much and many that is missing and beyond my sight. The villagers from Stonehaven disappeared without a trace.

Large amounts of stone have gone missing. I have traced this to an isolated area in the Heartlands where footprints and wagon tracks simply disappear.

Several settlements near Stonehaven have seen villagers disappear without a trace.

There are 50 - 60 slaves sold by a Mandarius, a necromancer, in Deci who have also just disappeared.

There is no clear link between the missing slaves and the missing villagers. It was only upon seeking out the children of the father that was slain as a result of a rite effected Jeremiah Stonehaven's father did the location of the slave market in Deci become apparent. I do not know if in Primus it is common for people to go 'missing' in such ways

It would appear that it is not only slaves, goods and peasants that are going missing, but also on the words of our hirer, Chaszmyr, a number of undead citizens have also vanished.

We have not yet had the time to follow up upon are visit to the area in the Heartlands where I tracked the stone that went missing. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of time and travel than I currently possess would know more.

8. JEREMIAH AND SARA STONEHAVEN

Jeremiah, Lord of Stonehaven. Having found a large amount of mithril within the mines of his lands now seeks to grow his village and is forging many trade links throughout the Empire.

It would seem that at the time of one hire (25th of the Second month) that Jeremiah was beginning to fall under the sway of his sister Sara and was actively considering the benefits of becoming an undead. At the end of our travels, one of our band removed this taint which Jeremiah had been unaware of and the lure of undeath i believe reduced somewhat. Sadly it does not take even the mind of my kin to know that having an undead vampiric creature as a sister may not be conducive to a man of good heart.

9. VALKARIAN

A chronomancer who has travelled to Stonehaven for apparently the casting of ‘time’ spells is simpler in Stonehaven. He has been assisting Jeremiah in the formation of defences of the town (needed apparently due to its new found wealth).
How big a part he is in what may play out who knows.

10. THE STONEHAVEN MINES

Home to an undead tribe. How they became so is unclear although tales told when first we came across them spoke of a shrouded being slaying them all with but a few words. The mines contain a vast vein of Mithril. Source of Stonehaven’s new found wealth.

The shaman of this tribe was slain and it would seem that the witchdoctor has now taken upon himself to be shaman as well.

They suffered an attack by the Order of the Eternal Light where a handful of them were slain.

11. DEMON TRADERS?

Upon our travels we have come across at two brothers who have now been able to travel to Primus. We say able for at least one of them we met within the Halls of Time when it offered trinkets of power in return for what seemed almost like permission from us to travel to Primus. Unfortunately and unknowingly permission was granted. These brothers are we believe demons of a sort and there is a third. It seems if the third were to arrive upon Primus then the three will become one, something which is unlikely to be good news for the innocents of Primus.

12. THE PROPHET

We come finally to the Prophet, we write about him last for we shall not write much only to say that we believe we know of his name and whereabouts and indeed it is our intent to meet and talk to him. For reasons again that we hope will become apparent it would not be prudent to say more at this time.

Further to our travels some two weeks ago we have written more about that which we saw in a way that I hope that even Groll can understand. I hope that this may prove useful to those that might come across that which is mentioned.

A few further thoughts following our last outing. We would have corrected the long thread but that would require more reading which is something, with the greatest of respect, where less seems to be better in the world of most mercenaries.

The Prophecy - it would seem my prior thoughts were slightly incorrect in that Aviathar has conquered 5 worlds, Martheon being the last. This would mean that in respect to the 'Dead of Four Lands' then this may refer only to the happenings upon the four lands of Primus which we have previously described.

The Order of Eternal Light - it would appear that the two brothers who now lead Aviathar's forces were the leaders of the Order upon Martheon who have now turned to Aviathar's path.
Their names are I believe Dakarian and Za'karr. It is interesting to note that the since the turning of their former leaders the Order have forged the Blade of Eternal Light in order to perhaps try and slay Za'Karr.

There is more upon the Prophet and that we have discovered but again we think perhaps this is best left until we next meet when all we hope shall become transparent.
