So having been to the heart tribe we have a few options open to us. We can either visit some of the other tribes (horn, shield and axe), investigate the haunted area that used to be home to the Oryx or investigate the other way which we are currently unaware what is down there. I shall have a scry later about this 'unknown area' although I suspect it will come up blank and am also happy to have a commune about some of the other areas if we want to.

I think the Haunted area of the Oryx tribe would be our best course of action... then onto the tribes lands.

I sort of agree with my Prince but think we should perhaps seek the other tribes first. Only because it may give us more information on what has/is happening and it may prevent more of the dead of those tribes joining up in that massive army of unhonourable dead/undead.
I think are best course of action would be for those skilled in Scrying to ask what our best course of action would be given what we know and what options we currently have. Unfortunately I am somewhat restricted in Scrying as I can only find out limited things. If we get no clear knowledge from scrying, I'd favour tribes then Oryx but would be happy to go with majority. Bayden Beastkin I think the Haunted area of the Oryx tribe would be our best course of action... then onto the tribes lands.

Oh dear, as much as I loathe the idea... I feel like the spooky haunted Oryx tribe place is probably where we should go next!

Ok so I have communed and we generally have 2 options available to us. We could either visit the haunted Oryx lands which may contain some insight as to what happened with them and may help us combat the oni.
Alternatively we could visit the other tribes to gather other parts of the seal and see if they have any other information that could be of use to us. I would recommend visiting the Oryx lands first as for now as for the moment the parts of the seal being split up is a good barrier against the oni being able to do something unforeseen with them. Also by visiting the Oryx lands we should hopefully gain a bit more information as to what has happened in the area and perhaps about the strengths and weaknesses of the oni we are fighting, other than that they don't like twilight. Let me know what we think and then we can make a proper decision May the fates be with you Ayame Rhagast -------------------- Dan Hunt

Ayame Rhagast,
I trust your guidance and pretty much all those that answered previously wanted to go there first. Demons and most likely Undead to come then! Bayden Beastkin Ok so I have communed and we generally have 2 options available to us. Let me know what we think and then we can make a proper decision May the fates be with you Ayame Rhagast Regarding the Oryx tribe... The Oryx tribe were one of the first tribes that left the Empire and came to the land that is now the Jade Empire. They made a bargain with demonic forces and became the first Oni. The Oni that once served the totem are often weaker in light/only killable by light. The area that used to belong to the Oryx tribe is odd, and dark but oddly is nothing evil enough there close to the feeling I had near/in the tunnels. Unlike most of the Jade Empire, the area of the tunnels never became part of the mittlenacht, it always remained part of Primus. Whatever the 'evil' that was imprisoned is/was (as it might have evolved/devolved or grown stronger/weaker over the years), there maybe a chance to destroy it rather than imprison it again. There are many things in the past that were imprisoned but are easier to kill now, just the people at the time may not have had the power to do so. Of course some of those creature really are very powerful. Hopefully as we investigate more, things will become more clear on what course of action to take. |

Ok everyone.
I've identified, and probably quite obvious, that there will be quite a large number of undead, haunted things and wardings that have been set up. The gods advise that anything to help with those and the Oni attacks will be extremely useful! Kassadin -------------------- Callum Kenney

Don't come then if you are not committed to the cause MM44 Why commit yourself to one thing when there are so many possible things to do, let's see how the dice rolls on my life and then maybe I'll be chosen for something. Life is a little bit chaotic....... But what's wrong with a bit of randomness. Morden |

Ok so outing 2 complete what are our plans for the next venture. We still have 2 tribes to visit, the shadow ritual in the oryx lands to deal with, and the final offensive against the oni. I would recommend not doing the shadow ritual early in the day as it would make black magic power more easy to call upon, likely strengthening the oni and preventing the use of light magic. I think we should visit the other 2 tribes and obtain their parts of the tablet, then deal once and for all with the main oni threat. This also potentially cuts out the need for dealing with the shadow ritual unless that would in some way help the tribes living there.
The second issue we have is how we prevent the oni from obtaining more pieces of the tablet, the ones the other tribes have should be safe with them but the parts we have have all been corrupted by dishonour, meaning the oni may try and retrieve them. If anyone has any particularly safe place to store them until out next venture that would be best. We should all also be practicing origami!! Ayame Rhagast -------------------- Dan Hunt

Rhagast and fellow Tunnellers,
Yesterday we were so close to dealing with the Living Shadow and the Black magic Oni rite. I am guessing we were very low on power/had ran out of power or had other information as to why we couldn't deal with it all. What I would suggest we do if possible is find out - what the Shadowy Black Magic rite does, what are the implications of us leaving rite empowered to us and the tribes, and what are the implications of not destroying the Living Shadow. Total guess, but I think the rite might be what is spreading the shadows/unnatural darkness throughout the tunnels, allowing the Oni to be stronger when attacking other areas of the tunnels. On our return to the tunnels, we may find the shadows have spread to areas they were once not there. Hopefully the defences of the other tribes, Axe & Horn, are sufficient to protect them. The Living Shadow maybe something we now have to deal with when we make our final offensive against the Oni/Dark evil previously trapped by the Tablet. If we had dealt with the Living Shadow and the shadowy black magic rite enough time would have passed for us to safely use white magics. Perhaps a missed opportunity but there is nothing we can do now but plan for our next visit and make sure we don't make further mistakes. As for the dishonourable acts, the parts we have being corrupted and the Oni being able to retrieve them, we need to find out - How many of us traveling next time have not committed a dishonourable attack, what are advantages/disadvantages of having committed a dishonourable act, what are advantages/disadvantages of not having committed a dishonourable act, in what way are the pieces we have corrupted and what can be done to remove that corruption, and what can be done to prevent further pieces being corrupted. We could also ask if the Axe and Horn tribes will remaining fairly safe/have strong enough defences in our absence, and what needs to be done when we have all parts of the tablet. We also need a translation of the newly gained parts of the tablet. Knowledge and forward planning are vital for our success next time we travel. Yesterday highlighted what happens when don't have enough information to deal with wardings/creatures of undeath etc. As for Origami..... I'd rather go for dinner with a diseased Swamp Troll, so I will leave that to the less martial of our group. Bayden (OOC - So next one is 03/10 and is currently fully booked in both players and crew No idea who is booked on bar Brett, Matt, Dan, Callum and I so ideally we need to get a list going and sort out who hasn't been dishonourable etc. Also lots of information needed I think and we may have made things harder for ourselves next time by failing to deal with Living Shadow/Shadow rite) Ok so outing 2 complete what are our plans for the next venture. I shall have a commune later about what you have suggested and report back to the group. The ritual was indeed what has been powering the shadows however I did not have the power to destroy the living shadow and complete the ritual and seeing as though nobody else seemed to be able to deal with the living shadow then our best option was to leave. With regards to the corruption of dishonour the way that the pieces can be cleansed is through seppuku and the way to stop other parts from being corrupted is by not committing dishonourable acts while you are in possession of them. I shall commune about the consequences of being dishonourable but I suspect it will allow the oni to more easily manipulate or control those people. I have learnt a few new origami folds so we should be ok for the first few wardings Ayame Rhagast -------------------- Dan Hunt

It was a power taxing day and you were correct in leaving, given the Living Shadow could only be killed with white magics. Your skills aided us greatly throughout the day so its no surprise you were low on power. Seppuku is out of the question for those that were dishonourable. Perhaps we should spread the parts of the tablet about next time just in case more dishonourable acts are committed.
Hopefully Bede or whoever has the pieces of the tablet, will be able to provide us with a translation of the tablet shortly. I am going to scrub up on my Ogham as my slowness to translate could have cost us. Bayden (OOC - Just in case Lee is evil again and brings out the Ogham, has anyone got a crib sheet? Cannot find one in my Druid book and online ones look different to letters we had yesterday But that could just be my memory!)
