I'm looking for two bits of kit for Myths
1) a set of 6-10 bottles or flasks that look decently in character, and come in some sort of carrying box. It has to be one that won't be reduced to glass splinters if it falls off a table, and the bottles should be larger than the standard 1-dose potion bottles, because you can't easily get powders into/out of those. 2) A small IC solid fuel stove - spirit lamp type thing Does anyone have bright ideas about where to get anything like that? I had a brief look on eBay, but that seems to be antiques and hence expensive/in demand :-(. Thanks, Lucy |

ok the following tips are...
1. Meth's burners from a fondue set, not great for carrying but looks good when left at the house. You can of course get metal meths bottles if you want to carry it on the road. 2. Darkblade potion bottles are great for putting brewed single dose potions or two doses if distilled, also readily available "aromatherapy" style wooden boxes will fit a large number securely and robustly. 3. Body shop..not so great looking but you can buy the empty bottles off them (or you used to be able too) available in clear and opaque and you can get differnt lids from the screw to the fliptop. Thes also have a wider neck for powders, again are robust and easily cleaned and of course you can just throw them away if you want. Plus replacments can be acquired anywhere you can fidn a bodyshop. 4. Herb boxes/jars from supermarkets, these also come in plastic these days, which is lighter and safer. -------------------- Gordon Court

I use:
A meths stove from Whites/Millets. It looks good and I've certainly never had complaints. A collection of jars/bottles from good kitchen shops - the ones with ceramic tops and rubber seals. The glass is thick enough so they won't break. I then made a little carrying pouch for them using some offcuts of wool cloth. Anyone could do this, seriously, my cat could make them. It was also all relatively inexpensive. If you want darkblade bottles (the 1-dose ones), I might have some left over you can have. I bought 100 cos it was cheaper and I knew they'd all go in the end. i've bought a stack of 100ml and 150ml clear plastic bottles, with different tops. They can be got from most good aromatherapy shops online. usually about £5 for 10 or so. Minimum order is usually about 10 bottles.

Personally I'd use a WWI leather cased burner & lidded tin mug.
But then I was lucky on E-bay! Travelling leather roll kit for potion bottles etc works well. Tim. |

ebay all the way cheap and uber stuff available Rob I tried that, but didn't have the patience to log on at bizarre hours to buy stuff 5 seconds before the auction ended, or loose it. Plus I've a bit of a bad history with eBayers who sell your e-mail address to spam lists :-( |

I don't get that about EBay. You bid as much as you're willing to pay for an item. If someone outbids you, it means they were willing to pay more than you thought it was worth, in which case they're welcome to it. The 5 second before auctions end thing is a fiction.

You can get pretty decent brass heaters on eBay generally - they unscrew down relatively small - heated by a tea light so no oil and as long as you're only heating things through rather than boiling things up then they're fine and look pretty good.

I think I'd get a wicker basket and fill it with panda pops bottles. best possible phys rep for alchemy kit you could wish for, eh, Paul? J -------------------- No of course I won't ref. Are you mad?

You can get those little scale sets quite cheaply form Ebay and those "new age shops" you know the one with hundreds of bongs in the window.
I've got a small set of copper pans which I think are for sugarcrafting. I'd go for tealight (even a tealight oil burner) much safer than meths or liquid fuels. Plus If your names Gordon your meths will run out 10 seconds to early I'd also recommend "Millions" the sweets they melt quite nicely at a low heat and come in lots of colours/flavours I cannot stand having to drink potions that have been made form someones left over cooking herbs or some weird green tea with bits in. Also don't accept potions from hip flasks if your driving -------------------- In AD&D 1st Edition the spell "Mount" should only ever be used as a seige weapon....

"Better than using gravy and barbeque sauce"
It was worse than that. Rich used gravy granules in cold water, watered down tomato sauce, some kind of vinegar based liquid as well we were not impressed. -------------------- Attention randomly typing monkeys.
