Super Saturday was a great success, lots of new players seemed to have enjoyed themselves, traders reported good business and the BBQ in the evening was popular and good chance to socialise. Between the raffle and the tombola we raised a fair amount of money towards the new 2-story building in the caves planned for later this year. The numbers of the unclaimed raffle prizes will be going up on the forums tonight.
Plans are already in motion to host another similar event next year, with Saturday 12th May being the most likely date. If you have any feedback or suggestions for it we would love to hear it.
On to this week’s events:
Usual Thursday Club fun, an Unbalanced Almacsa themed dungeon reffed by Sam M. It currently has 6 players but no crew, so looking a bit shaky at the moment unless some can be found.
“It’s About Time” Max 3k campaign dungeon, being reffed by Sean C. Next instalment of this open campaign, so more players are always welcome to join. Currently just has an a-ref, so could do with a couple of monsters for the 9 players.
Closed Tribal Bash, is a party of 4 warriors so really will be a bash, being reffed by myself, I currently have 2 monsters, but a-ref would be good as well if other dungeon sorted for crew!
3k Mortai guild special at Buckmore Park. This has gone from 6 players and a ref to just 2 players, so I presuming it will be cancelled unless things change shortly.
Young Players, being reffed by Rich E, only 3 people booked so far, so need some more to make sure it runs. We also need a second ref for it.
Open Pre 8th Dungeon, currently no one booked but has only just gone up. Open to anyone but Is there for all those that came to the kit fair to return and experience another fun day at the caves. As such could do with a ref and some crew to make this happen
Space for other dungeons at the caves today if people want to organise something.
Claws of the circle max 4k Overland, again, everyone has booked off so this isn’t going to run. Overlands don’t seem to popular at the moment!
Sunday’s pre 8th is the first of a series of Pre 8th and Max 250’s that have been added to the Event Diary designed for all the new players who came to the open day to be able to come back and play again. We really want them to keep having great days here so would ask that club members have a look through them and book to ref, a-ref or monster at least 1 of them to ensure that this happens. New players now means new monsters and ref’s in the future!
Next week we have another Tuesday Club running, a max 750, currently has some players and monsters but really needs a ref. Is anyone able to help out? What tends to happen is once a ref books it fills up with players!
There are still spaces available on many of this years extended lengths. Check the forums for details, although I will be doing a summary post this week. Payments are also due for a number of them, please get them in before I have to spend time chasing them.
Rumours and Gossip
The Bickley is going to be closed for another couple of weeks as it is transformed in to steakhouse and pub. Evening drinks will probably move up to the Ramblers Rest while it does.
Lee is busy working away on a new version of the Realm of Glass, hopefully due out later this year!
Currently booked to play tuesday, but if no one is found in the next few days, Ill ref instead.
As nothing is really going on on Sunday would anyone be up for a 5250 on Sunday?
Anyone willing to ref / crew etc?
I would really like to play if at all possible!
I've moved over to ref tuesday. Hoping we get a few more players.
To confirm a few other bits for this week:
The Thursday dungeon has been moved to next week, the 25th. It will still need some monsters and more players
Saturdays Mortai dungeon is definitely cancelled, the 3k "It's About Time" campaign dungeon could do with another monster or 2 as it is now full. Young players needs some more people to book on.
Sunday has 2 people booked to monster the pre 8th but currently no one booked on that, or apart from Richard above, not much in the way of other events happening. Currently looking like the caves may be closed, unless some last minute organisation takes place.
Tuesday next week has Pete as ref, it could do with some more players booking on!
Ahoi there! Just wanting to say a big thanks for an awesome Saturday. Was a fantastic way of getting involved and just had an awesome atmosphere all throughout the day!
On a similar note. Me and me partner wouldn't mind popping down for the pre 8th. Just to iron out our characters. The only issue, is that our current characters are now at level 8 after two events. Would it be alright for us to pop down anyways and just play at a lower level so we can get that little bit of extra practice/ character discussions in before we go for the big leagues?
Glad you had a great day, we appreciate the positive feedback!
Would be great for you and your partner to play again on Sunday, we can get the threshold changed to a max 250 so you and your partner can both play. We do however need a minimum of 6 people for an event to run, I will see if I can find anyone else up for joining you. Keep an eye out here tomorrow for an update.
If anyone else does fancy playing a max 250 on Sunday please book on to the event on the event diary that day, will get it changed over shortly.
Duncan makes the final decisions Thursday evening, when either he or I will update on here. I have a ref sorted for it, and there are 2 monsters booked, so just need some players.
Anyone want to play a 250 Sunday?
I have booked onto the 250 to help with numbers, no idea what I will be playing though!!
We are now up to 6 players for Sunday, with Will P stepping in to ref, so we are looking all good to go but more players always welcome!
Saturday we could do with 1 more monster for the 3K that has Kat, Duncan and many others that helped out last weekend playing it.
We also could do with some more young players booking on!
Just booked on Sundays 250.
Playing my Scout / Pathfinder from previous weekends taster sessions.
Drixla - Pathfinder
Deepest apologies for not making it today. I broke down on the m25 on the way and its taken me 5 hours to get home. I would have much rather been in the caves than staring at the grass verge for several hours.
Just glad I wasnt already in costume...
I did try phoning the caves to let someone know but unfortunately couldnt get through.
No worries Steve, thanks for letting us know on here. Hope the car repair isn't too expensive!
