His most honourable Lordship the Emperor of Jade has been petitioned to look into the actions of two Daimyos within the most glorious Jade Empire.

Lady Ningyou Dansu of the Crane Clan has been accused of knowingly harbouring a enemy of the Jade Empire, specifically allowing Toshimoko to remain within the Crane Lands and offering him rest and comfort.

Lord Naga Yusaki has likewise been accused of performing actions that bring dishonour upon himself and his clan in violation of the Jade Code. Specifically concerning the possession of a sword, more details will not be publically revealed.

I have been requested to gather information on the matter and present it to the most Honourable Emperor within a week for his judgement.

As such I would ask anyone with anything relevant to say should contact me privately.
I would also ask that public debate is refrained from as insults, even if retracted, still leave scars.

(OOC: Please email me using the lee@ email in the signature. Include in the header "Trial of Daimyos" and make sure you tell me your character and your status so I can deal with it.
Last chance for emails is end of the day Friday so I can read stuff Sunday.

Thanks

Sonof)

After much deliberation and reviewing all of the statements I have received I have passed the information to the Emperor for his judgement. He has been guided by the wisdom of the Fates, the advice of the Ancestors, and the Will of the Celestial Heavens.

As such on this day the findings are:

Lord Naga has the right to judge Toshimoko for his actions, and as such we will make no findings on them. We will however say that as is his right and should he wish to Toshimoko can challenge Lord Naga’s decision himself.

However we find that Lord Naga did not have the right to issue a blanket decision on all Oni. While unlikely the chance that they can be returned to us and allowed to purge the sins that dragged them to the Shadowlands must remain.

On the accusations against Lady Dansu. We find no substance to them. No evidence has been given that Toshimoko acted against the Emperor or the Empire in anyway. As such Lady Dansu cannot have offered aid to an Enemy of the Empire or the Heavens.

With regards to the actions of Lord Naga. The evidence has shown that over the passed year his actions have become erratic and he has steadily begun to act in his own interests rather than those of the Empire. His conflict with the Jade Council, blanket refusal to allow those that have signed the Peace treaty with the Southern Thun tribes to enter the Snake lands, and other actions lead us to believe that he needs a moment of rest. As such the “sword” should be passed immediately to the Honourable Ri-Leck to ensure it can be secured and destroyed when able. Talk of crafting the most powerful weapon of all time should cease.
Additionally, and in recognition of Lord Naga’s years of service to the Empire in holding the forces of the Shadow Land at bay, the Emperor desires Lord Naga take time to rest and find his focus once more. How he chooses to do this is up to him, be it spending time meditating on the Heavens and understanding their Will, a pilgrimage to the sacred places of the Empire, or other endeavour. Whatever he chooses he is to step back from politics and the toils of leading a clan until he has cleansed himself of the taint. As is Naga’s right he can choose to disagree with this and perform the ritual of Sepuku to show his displeasure, or challenge the Emperors decision and face the Emperors Honour in combat.

The Emperor trusts that the issues of this year will end at the Dawn and the clans can unite to face the problems that lay ahead.

Lord Naga Yusaki

It has been brought to me by The Emperor that following a private missive exchange you have formally disagreed with him. You have chosen not to disagree with him and perform the ritual of Sepuku. You have also chosen not to banish yourself as previously stated. You have chosen to try and prove the Emperor wrong in combat.

As you have disagreed with The Emperor, you are hereby stripped of all rank and title. For the next 40 days you will be treated as a Peasant within Amlas, this time should allow you to get your affairs in order, and for us to conclude our business.

For years of loyal service you may as your last act appoint your replacement as Damiyo, however they will need to swear loyalty to the Emperor for the Snake Clan to remain within his Land.

The position of Warlord of the Shadowlands is not yours to give, and as such this position is now vacant until such time as someone distinguishes themselves for The Emperor.

I would like to remind the Snake Clan that it is expected that each man will continue to do their duty and defend the land upon the wall from the foe.
