For the attention of His Holiness, Andric and the respected elders of my Church.
I am a simple ley worshipper of those Heroes dead and gone and I very much need your help. My name is Jathan Blanchard and I am a modestly prosperous individual with a portage business on the River Wine, I have offices at the village of Staylor. Business has been good of late, despite the recent war, and I am sufficiently near to Biltdeve to not need to worry about the orcs from the Broken Lands besetting us. Due to my prosperity I have begun to think about putting down roots and am looking perhaps to start a family, much to my mother and father’s approval. To this end, a month ago I leased Staylor Hall, a local manor, from Duchess Claugh-Bartholomaw. Four days ago I returned to the Hall (after visiting the office) to find three of my labourers dead in the courtyard and myself unable to enter the house, something struck at me as I attempted to enter, and the door would not budge. I heard words, and it was if the Hall was announcing some sort of wardpact against me. The sky darkened, and then ancient warriors pulled themselves from the ground and came at me. They had no physical form but the sight of them chilled me. I would not call myself a coward usually, but I ran. Initially I was concerned that these things would attack the village and other people nearby, but I ventured back, once I had composed myself and they seemed to have confined themselves to my manor, though the darkness overhead is growing. I am currently residing with my parents in Staylor, though I am personally checking the Mansion each day, albeit from a safe distance. I estimate we have a month before the darkness reaches the village. I hope I have done nothing wrong, I have prayed to Milora, and to my uncle's spirit who died at the Shriven Plains, for guidance and last night I dreamt of a bald man and a pale lord in a dress fighting these ancient warriors, there were others with them. I think my prayers were being answered. Could anyone meet me at my offices, say next Starsday, if not before. I would be happy to make a donation to the Church or pay those who wished it the sum of 3000 Grulls each were they to work out what was wrong and solve it. If it is my fault, I will make amends, but the people of Staylor are my friends and family, we have worked hard to build a prosperous community and I ask you to help us keep it safe. Jathan Blanchard |

Dear Jathan,
I will indeed personally attend to help with your problem. Who else is free? Do let me know if you are intending to be present as I have some gifts for people. We'll get to the bottom of it. I'll send the Eagle Claw out for a preliminary 2 hour mission, see what they find. If anyone needs anything, please let me know. Andric |

Not sure if you can help with the only thing I need - looking for a reliable sitter for Sunsday so I can attend the muster in legend. Maya is adamant that childcare is the husband's responsibility. I'll be there as well! Apparently I'm too much of a troublemaker to come on my own though so I think Tai and Tidus are coming to babysit me... Poor them.
Yeah it has been a while since Teblor! Will be good to see you again. Rufus Lord Troublemaker |
